Have you ever wanted to ask a pornstar a bunch of questions?  I know I always wanted to and I find myself in the position to do just that.  One of my favorite models by appearance alone is Kayden Kross.  I was getting ready to do a type of interview that would ask all those porn related questions, however, researching a little on her, it became apparent that she’s more than meets the eye and a lot of questions should be asked.

Question: Before any interview, I try to do a little research on the person to get a feel for what questions I should and shouldn’t ask.  Reading over you myspace page, it gave me pause, as you’re not what the average person would consider a stereotypical pornstar.  How do you deal with average people that have a preconceived notion about pornstars?

Kayden Kross: I let people hold their stereotypes. It can provide hours of entertainment.

Question: Do you find that people in the industry are more willing to accept the fact that you’re not only beautiful, but you have a huge pulsing brain?  You say that you’re a “pornstar by day and a student at night” and studying psychology at the moment.  When will you get your degree and why did you pick psychology?

Kayden Kross: I actually just picked up political science as well so the answer to “when will you get your degree” is probably never at the rate I keep adding majors. I picked psychology after I got my AA because Sac State said I had to declare a major at that point and I really didn’t know what I wanted to do. I still don’t but I’ll at least have two shiny degrees to talk about over cocktails in the future. Maybe more.

Question: Does this mean your plans for the future doesn’t include a porn career or do you plan on staying in the industry in front of the camera and behind the scenes for the foreseeable future? Where do you see yourself in 10 years from now?  What are you goals?  What would you like to achieve?

Kayden Kross: I see myself everywhere 10 years from now. I see myself in other countries and I see myself in school and I see myself in the industry or married with kids. It’s hard to say where I want to be because I’ve hit a place in my life where everything is interesting and if I choose one path I’m most likely shutting out the others. At the moment I’m planning for all 4 and we’ll see what sticks.

Question: You list Ayn Rand as one of your favorite authors.  Personally I thought Anthem was her best work, but I’m a fan of the Utopia/Dystopia genre.  Which Ayn Rand novel is your favorite?

Kayden Kross: Atlas Shrugged was my favorite. Anthem was very good but it was dismal and while martyrdom was appealing at one point for me it’s just not anymore. The thing I admire most about Ayn Rand is how well and how passionately she did everything in her life. I don’t agree with her philosophy 100% but when I read Atlas Shrugged it put almost everything I’d read before it to shame, and English wasn’t even her first language.

Question: Speaking of Utopia, what would your vision be for a perfect personal utopia?  If you could pick any life to lead that you would think is just perfect, what would it be?

Kayden Kross: I’d like to disappear to a tropical island with the people I love most and a herd of horses and a never ending supply of books. It will be a nation state and I will run it. The porn industry will most likely relocate there because there will be no such thing as obscenity laws and piracy laws will be strict and swift. There will be pet rabbits in every home.

Question: We started doing these interviews on this blog because our fearless leader forced me to sign-up for Twitter despite my protestations that Tweeting is just evil.  You have a Twitter page, a myspace page, a blog (very good read btw), and of course your personal website and probably a dozen other pages I’m forgetting to mention.  How important is it for models to utilize the social bookmarking sites and other webpages to promote themselves?

Kayden Kross: At this time in the industry I think if you don’t do it you can’t succeed. Fans expect access now and social networking sites provide it. I still get handwritten fan mail but it’s nothing like the emails and comments I get on all of my profiles. The downside is I can’t keep up with it all. Twitter and my blog are my favorites because I can send a mass message out in a (hopefully) entertaining way.

Question: What advice would you give to someone wanting to enter into porn?

Kayden Kross: I’d say if you’re unsure at all about it, wait. Once you know it’s something you want to do try to find someone you can trust to help you make the right decisions along the way.

Question: Reading over your epic rescue of fish and bunnies, it’s kind of obvious you’re an animal lover.  Do you always spring to the rescue when you see an animal in need and are your friends tired of you asking them to adopt animals?  (note, I’m in the same boat and my 5 dogs and 3 cats are mocking me right now for even asking this question)

Kayden Kross: I think everyone is tired of me offering them baby rabbits. Especially the people with kids. Right now I’m looking for a home for chin chin and rocky and I know that the second I find one I’ll have two more babies in a cardboard box with a bottle of milk. It’s a cycle and I see now why my mom used to lie to me about strays.

Question: I’m going to start asking you some pornstar type questions just because I can see the phone call coming in, “You have Kayden Kross, one of the hottest women in porn, and you talked about books, school, utopia, and animals…wtf is wrong with you!”  So pornstar questions:

Question: You started as an exotic dancer, how did you make the transition into being a pornstar?
My story is pretty lame. I was a house dancer and an agent came through the club and offered to get me into magazine modeling. From there I made the transition to B/G

Question: What was your favorite movie that you shot and why?

Kayden Kross: “The 8th Day” just released and everyone who worked on it is emotionally attached to that movie. It’s Adam and Eve’s biggest budget film to date and we worked on it over the course of 4 months. A ton of effort went into the acting and special effects and of course, the sex.

Question: Who would you want to work with that you haven’t worked with yet in a film?

Kayden Kross: I’ve always wanted to work with Rocco Siffredi. I feel like I’m just not a legitimate pornstar until I do.

Question: Do people recognize you as being Kayden Kross and has it caused any uncomfortable situations?

Kayden Kross: Once in class but otherwise it’s been pretty seamless.

Question: If you could write, direct, and produce your own porn flick, what would the story be?

Kayden Kross: Ren Savant (who directed “The 8th Day” explained his theory on a good porn story. He wants scenarios that really explain why a heated and emotional scene is about to take place, whether it’s love or hate or jealousy or whatever the story happens to work in. After working with him I really agree with that. I’d want a story that really lent itself to the sex rather that one that just set up random sexual scenarios.

Question: Plastic Surgery, have you had any and do you recommend it as a career move for models?

Kayden Kross: Obviously I have breast implants. Lots of girls get them and I’m happy I did it. I think it’s a personal choice and should not be done for a career. One day that career is going to end and you’re still going to have them.

Question: Most people think being a pornstar is easy, it’s just sex afterall, what were some revelations you had once you were in the business, done some movies, and things you learned about sex since you started?

Kayden Kross: No industry is easy if you want to be at the top. The sex is what we market but most of the work is the actual marketing.

Question: Besides the wonders of Baby Wipes, what do pornstars know that the average person doesn’t know?

Kayden Kross: I think we really just learn to master hygiene in a more complete way overall. Now my lingerie always matches underneath, I shave each and every day. I use baby wipes like they’re a religion… my nails are always done and my hair is always kept up and the people at the spray tan booth know me by name. You never know when you’re gonna be naked on camera.

Question: If you were interviewing yourself what questions would you ask?

Kayden Kross: I’d want some shock stories. Of course I always want shock stories.

Kayden Kross: The only reason you’re not eating sushi is because you emailed me the interview. If you’d come to me in person you’d have been doomed.
